Rosemary and Garlic Beef

Steak must be one of my favourite meals. The meaty goodness! Just the simplicity of a grilled steak, marinated or not, it'll still satisfy you.

We marinated the meat with some HP sauce, honey, rosemary and garlic. You can play with the ratios a little to get it just the way you like it. AND one big tip! If you put meat tenderizer, DO NOT ADD SALT! We learnt that the hard way :( Luckily it was still bearable! Just pan fry it till however you like it. Be it rare, medium or well-done.
Pan fried steak and some "healthy sides" to go with it.

And not forgetting,
Happy Merdeka!

The King of Fruits.

Some love it, some cringe with disgust at the smell of it.
Over here, it is durian overload at home during the durian season.
We love it's creamy texture but then of course, it requires an acquired taste to love it!

What say you?

Yay or nay?

Spaghetti Bolognese with Mushrooms

There are so many kinds of pasta. And what I feel is the most well known pasta is the spaghetti bolognese. With red sauce ready to stain your lips (even your attire) while you slurp each strand of noodle down. What has originated from Italy has captured the hearts of many, despite it being messy. I simply love twirling my spaghetti with a fork as dainty as possible.
This spaghetti bolognese we cooked up one afternoon is quite an easy dish to make since you can always easily altar it on the spot to suit your taste. Just sautee garlic and onions in some olive oil, then sautee the mushrooms. Followed by the minced beef, a dash of sugar, salt and pepper of course not forgetting Italian herbs, fresh tomatoes and finally a  tomato puree of your choice! (Prego, if you'd ask me) From then on, it's just adding adjusting the sauce according to your liking by adding pepper, herbs and what not!
Godere gli spaghetti alla bolognese!
Enjoy your spaghetti bolognese! (:

Avocados

Avocados are quite the special fruit. The creamy, smooth flesh. Ready for salads, guacamole or just to spread on toast! We had our first taste of avocado when we were in Australia on our aunt's vegetable farm. After that, we absolutely adore this fruit especially when you get them on dragon rolls at a sushi place!

Our Filipino maid taught us that in Philippines, they eat it with condensed milk on toast or crackers! It sounds like an odd combo, but it really is pretty good! (: She brought back avocados grown in her backyard back home which has a bigger seed compared to the ones you get at the supermarket. But nevertheless, avocados are great! Heard it even promotes hair growth!
